Sanford Homeschoolers Semi-Formal Policies

Registration Details
  • To register for the middle school semi-formal you must be a North Carolina Homeschool student and be able to provide your NC DNPE homeschool ID#.
  • One non-homeschooled guest may attend the Middle School Semi-Formal with a registered NC homeschool student. 
  • Attendees must be at least 11 year of age by September 1, 2025, and can not be older than 14 years old at the time of the dance.
  • Tickets are per person and include food, professional DJ, candy buffet and more!
Check-In & Identification
All attendees must check in upon arrival. Students will receive a wristband which must be worn at all times and
may not be shared.

Supervision & Respect
This is a fully supervised event. Students must follow staff directions and display respectful behavior at all times.

Event Boundaries
Students must remain in designated areas. Restricted spaces and leaving without permission are not allowed.

Pickup & Early Departure
Students should remain at the Middle School Semi-Formal till at least 8:00 PM. Parents may begin arriving at 8:45pm for pickup. Early departures require approval and parental permission.

Re-Entry Policy
Students may not leave and return once they have entered. Vehicles may only be accessed with a chaperone.

Prohibited Items & Substances
No alcohol, tobacco, vaping, drugs, weapons, or hazardous items. Approved medical devices are allowed with disclosure.

Bags & Personal Belongings
Backpacks are not allowed. Small clutch purses are permitted and may be checked.

Dance Conduct
No lifting, grinding, twerking, aggressive dancing, dangerous stunts, or explicit gestures. Unsafe behavior will be addressed.

Behavior & Dismissal
Students who violate rules may be removed without refund. Parents will be contacted.

Enforcement
Chaperones and staff have final authority to enforce all rules.

Refunds
Sanford Homeschoolers will NOT issue REFUNDS. Registration may be transferred to another qualifying student ONLY in very limited circumstances and ONLY upon approval of the semi-formal Committee. Any transfer MUST go through the prom committee. We will accept no guests who are not fully registered.

Liability & Responsibility
Parents agree not to hold Sanford Homeschoolers, volunteers, or the venue liable for accidents, injuries, or lost items. Submission of a registration form indicates agreement to abide by all Rules & Requirements of Sanford Homeschoolers Middle School Semi-Formal.



Middle School Semi-Formal Dress Code
The Middle School Homeschool Dance is a semi-formal event, and all attendees are expected to dress in a manner that reflects the occasion. Attire must be modest and appropriate. Please review the dress code carefully. Students who arrive not meeting these expectations may be asked to leave. We appreciate your cooperation in helping ensure a positive experience for everyone.

Gentlemen
  • Dress slacks or NEW clean jeans, paired with a button-down shirt or polo
  • Flip flops, shorts, cargo pants, sweatpants, t-shirts, and casual clothing are not permitted.
Ladies
  • Open-back dresses may not extend below the natural waist
  • Necklines must not be plunging or low-cut
  • Midriffs must be fully covered
  • Two-piece dresses are acceptable only if no skin is exposed when standing
  • Dress slits may not rise above the knee and skirts must be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee.
  • Nice dress pants with a blouse is acceptable.
